Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Bands

The ceremonial unit consists of three groups: the Concert Band, the Corps of Drums and the Colour Party Formed in 1984, they have been representing the service through music, marching and colourful displays ever since. Musicians include serving and retired firefighters and support staff as well as talented residents of Devon and Somerset with a background in music.

Concert band

The Concert Band currently has 40 members and the music played varies from military marches to classical pieces, to medleys from films and musicals. The Band regularly supports the Fire Fighters Charity, alongside many local charities too.  

Corps of Drums

This band provides drummers and buglers for all sorts of occasions. Their performance history includes local. National, and international events and audiences vary from royalty to crowds at smaller venues such as Church fetes. The Corps of drums often joins with other musicians

The Colour Party.

They are a small group that supports the Concert Band and Corps of Drums through colourful displays. You will find the Colour Party alongside the bands at many events
